5 Reasons to Try Aquilante's Bistro and Tavern

Posted

1. The food is amazing.

Italian favorites, but with modern touches. “We serve traditional Italian with a unique twist,” says co-owner Mary Aquilante. The menu is full of grilled pizza, pasta, seafood, steak, chicken and veal - both in classics like saltimbocca and francese, and with new, exciting avors. Think Chicken Sienna, sauteed with artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, olives, lem- on butter and wine; or Marie Antoinette, which is eggplant parmesan with meat- balls and sausage.

2. It's run by a husband and wife duo.

Owner Mary and John Aquilante started the restaurant seven years ago. John is in the kitchen, and Mary runs the front of house. Maybe that’s why the restaurant has such a welcoming, family vibe to it.

3. They're so popular, they had to move to a bigger location.

“We outgrew our space,” Mary says. “Three years ago we moved, and doubled the number of people we can seat.” Hungry customers come back again and again for their creative Italian comfort food. They can also host private events of up to 50 people, for any special occasion or family gathering.

4. They do daily specials, in keeping with the season.

“We always do steaks and veal chops,” Mary says, “but the preparation changes according to what’s fresh and in season.” Seeing what’s new that day is just one more good reason to come back again and again.

5. They're adding brunch in the fall.

In addition to their current weekday lunch and daily dinner service, Aquilante’s is adding Sunday brunch in October. On the menu will be creative options like lobster benedict and crab omelets.
