Great Mornings at Jigger's Diner

Posted

There’s breakfast, and then there’s breakfast at the legendary Jigger’s Diner in East Greenwich. What started in 1917 - 100 years ago! - as a little lunch cart is now a dining institution, serving hungry crowds every day. But this isn’t your standard diner fare: there are benedicts with country ham, corned beef or smoked salmon, and breakfast sandwiches like the Triple Decker Monte Cristo. Pancakes and waffles get with toppings like chocolate chips, ice cream or roasted Fuji apples. There are 27 different options to build your own omelet. Jigger’s is one of the few places in Rhode Island to serve classically prepared Johnnycakes, the iconic Ocean State breakfast made with meal from Kenyon’s Grist Mill in Usquepaugh. A meal like that gives a whole new meaning to
“good morning.”

Let’s Do Lunch
Breakfast isn’t the only meal done right at Jigger’s. Their lunch offerings are second to none, including house-made soups and chowders, and a huge selection of sandwiches, panini and burgers, including lots of healthy options and creative, mouthwatering salads. New this year are classic RI ice cream treats like Coffee Cabinet and Black & White Cow, along with ice cream floats made with Yacht Club sodas. Whatever you order, make sure to order a basket of house-made chips on the side.
