Lace Up For a Thanksgiving 5k

Posted

November 23: Take a run through historic Pawtucket while thinking about the Pilgrims on Thanksgiving Day. The Rhode Island Family Turkey Trot 5k & Youth Run begins at the city hall at 10am, but if the kids are feeling antsy the youth fun run begins at 9:30am.

November 23: The 32nd annual Newport County YMCA Pie Run has been around for so long for a lot of reasons, but the main one is that nothing drives people to run more than the chance to win pie. The five-mile run starts at 8:30am, but you can also opt for the three-mile non-competitive walk.

November 25: If a turkey trot on Thanksgiving isn’t enough (or you really binged on that turkey this year) no need to worry. The East Greenwich Hill and Harbor Turkey Trot will take you through East Greenwich with a 5k starting at 8:30am the Saturday after Turkey Day, and a slower one-mile fun run starts at 9:30am. Crafts, fun and music are added perks.

November 25: If you aren’t doing the fun run at East Greenwich Hill and Harbor, then you better swing your way over to St. Luke’s 18th Annual School Trot Off Your Turkey in Barrington. Lineup starts at 9:30am for the 5k run, with a 1.5-mile walk/run beginning at 10am. The best part? If you didn’t get enough turkey on Thanksgiving there will be a post-race turkey soup party with prizes.
