Join in this important library fundraiser and ring in the season by celebrating Winter’s Eve Opening Reception, at the East Greenwich Free Library, Thursday, December 7th, 82 Peirce Street.

The evening begins at 6 pm in the Library’s Howard Silverman Gallery. Enjoy delicious sweet/savory hors d’oeuvres provided by some of East Greenwich’s finest restaurants and wine from The Savory Grape. Adding to the festive mood, there will be live music by harpist, Judith Mitchell. Plus, the entire Library will be seasonally bedecked by East Greenwich-Warwick Garden Club members. An evening highlight will be the announcement of the Juror’s Award, a solo 2018 gallery exhibit, and B&H Framing's Honorable Mention award.

Past Winter’s Eve award winners include artists Lee Bergwall Hanks, Uli Brahmst, Marjorie Ball, Cathy Chin, Reed McLaren, and Nina Ackmann.

Juror – MIM BROOKS FAWCETT joined the Attleboro Arts Museum as Executive Director and Chief Curator in July 2006. The Attleboro Arts Museum delivers 8 -10 annual exhibitions of art, arts education programs, and unique cultural experiences to visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Ms. Fawcett has focused her efforts on heightening the Museum’s profile in the region and providing outstanding and diverse exhibits and multidisciplinary arts initiatives to promising and professional artists. She encourages visitors to explore the wonders and challenges of art through classes, gallery talks and workshops designed to stretch creative thinking.

Ms. Fawcett actively serves as a leader for the City of Attleboro’s Expo for the Senses and Winter Night Festivals – bringing thousands of visitors to Attleboro’s downtown for memorable celebrations of the arts. Additionally, she is a lively partner in the City of Attleboro’s Big Read, a National Endowment for the Arts literacy initiative, curating related exhibitions, conducting arts workshops and designing communications that expand the experience of connecting with great literature.

She is a frequent guest juror for galleries, museums and arts organizations throughout New England – such as Galatea Fine Art (SoWa) Boston/New England Collective; Blanche Ames National Juried Art Show, and the Cape Cod Museum of Art's first juried exhibition, Breaking the Mold. http://attleboroartsmuseum.org/
