Meatball Medley
The Italian wedding soup from Tom’s Market (locations in Coventry, Warren and Tiverton) was a hit. The small meatballs melted in our mouths, while the accompanying carrots, escarole and celery elevated the well-seasoned broth. Multiple locations.
Piquant Poultry
We savored every piece of tender chicken we could spoon out of the Grilled Chicken Corn Chowder from Bagels Etc. in Barrington. Each hearty bite was complemented nicely by the savory, thick broth. 259 County Road, Barrington. 247-1213.
Very Vegetable
After a gluttonous holiday season, the Vegetable Butternut Apple Bisque from Belmont Market in Wakefield was a welcome treat. We could readily taste the crisp apple and savory squash, a nice touch. 600 Kingstown Road, Wakefield. 783-4656
Savory Spoonfuls
The Beef Barley from Richmond’s Fresh Ground Garden Café was a meal all on its own. The beef was fall-apart tender and the carrots added just enough sweetness. 93 Kingstown Road, Richmond. 491-9035
Nutritious Noodles
Someone’s mother could have made the Chicken Noodle Soup from Dave’s Marketplace. The chicken was succulent and the noodles and vegetables were perfect. Multiple locations.
Enticing Escarole
Macera Restaurant’s Chicken Escarole Soup is everything you ever dreamed chicken soup could be: tender chicken, fresh vegetables and firm pasta in a flavorful broth. 1500 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. 463-5303.
