Back-to-School Supplies for 2020

Notebooks, pencils, masks, and more from local makers

Posted

Whether learning happens in a classroom, on a picnic blanket, or at the dining room table, not even a pandemic can put a damper on the excitement of shopping for new supplies. In the age of Chromebooks, there’s still nothing quite like procuring blank notebooks and unsharpened pencils to fill one’s mind with possibilities, hope, and fresh starts. Of course, this year there’s a new item on the shopping checklist: masks. Like backpacks and lunch sacks, face coverings are the latest utilitarian item to also display personality and style – and ever-adaptable kids will likely be wearing them in stride. Sure, big box stores have constructed alluring towers of school merch comparable to the holiday season, but we hope you’ll also give some love to local shops and makers, and set your students apart with unique and colorful goods. Here are some best bets for prepping for the academic year ahead.
