Celebrate Dr. King’s Legacy Through Art and Action at the RISD Museum

Free events and workshops inspire unity and reflection

Posted

The RISD Museum will spotlight art, community, and the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. this January with a weekend of free admission and engaging programs. Sponsored by Amica Mutual Insurance, the museum invites visitors on January 18-19 to honor Dr. King’s vision through creativity and reflection.

The two-day event offers interactive workshops for families, focusing on unity and social justice through hands-on art activities. History enthusiasts and art lovers can explore the museum’s extensive collection on self-guided tours that examine themes of civil rights, equity, and inclusion.

“This collaboration with Amica creates an opportunity to celebrate Dr. King’s vision,” says Tsugumi Maki, director of the RISD Museum. Ted Shallcross, Amica’s president and CEO, echoed this sentiment, adding, “Art and culture have the power to unite communities and inspire meaningful change.” For the full schedule of events or more details, visit RISDMuseum.org.
