How Ashley Bove Brings Rhode Island Together Over Charcuterie

Artisan Bites stands out with its locally sourced ingredients, fresh flowers, and a creative flair that turns every board into a work of art

Ashley Bove’s charcuterie business started with a simple question from her husband: “Why don’t you sell yours?” That suggestion in May inspired her to take a leap of faith, and Artisan Bites was born.

“Creating charcuterie boards was always something I did for fun,” Bove shares, reflecting on how her hobby turned into a business. After setting up an Instagram account to showcase her work, she received nearly $1,300 in orders during her first week.

In a region filled with charcuterie artists, it’s the presentation that sets Bove’s creations apart. She emphasizes the role of fresh flowers and herbs in her boards. “I incorporate flowers to complete every single board,” she explains, crediting her mother’s experience running a silk floral business for her floral touch. The fresh herbs, she notes, add balance and harmony to each board, elevating the overall experience.

Locally sourced ingredients are another cornerstone of Artisan Bites. Bove makes it a priority to invest in her community, sourcing bread from Seven Stars Bakery and produce from Confreda Farms. “We joke that we’re only two degrees of separation in Rhode Island,” she shares. “I believe that if we support each other, we can all win together.”

Bove’s passion extends beyond crafting boards; she also teaches workshops that help others explore their creativity. Her favorite part? The connections. “Forty-five minutes in, strangers are taking selfies and showing off their salami roses,” she says.

Bove is excited about the launch of Artisan Bites’ mobile charcuterie trailer and dreams of opening a brick-and-mortar space to bring even more people together over food. For more information, visit ArtisanBitesRI.com.
