A Meal for the History Books at Iron Works Tavern


Step back in history while experiencing the best in American cuisine at the Iron Works Tavern. This restaurant is in a 19th century restored mill, but the unforgettable experience and the inventive food are thoroughly modern. Iron Works serves modern tavern food that goes beyond the ordinary. Choose from appetizers like Bacon-Wrapped Scallops with bourbon maple butter over cornbread crumble, Crispy Brussels Sprouts with truffle oil and parmesan, or grilled pizzas (which are available gluten free). The Macaroni and Cheese comes with guest choice of preparation: signature with garlic-toasted breadcrumbs; with chicken, bacon and chives; or with pulled short ribs. IWT burgers and sandwiches, including the signature Lobster Roll, and entrees like Bacon-Infused Meatloaf round out the enticing menu.

Upstairs at the Tavern features the restored offices of the RI Malleable Iron Works. This unique space for private events from 15-150 guests is rich in history and is a great option for family events and corporate meetings. The offices now serve as semi-private dining rooms, all attached to the Great Room, which features beautifully restored original woodwork, a working fireplace, an event kitchen and a full bar. The lively bar area at Iron Works is a place to relax before or after dinner, and enjoy a cocktail with friends, or soon-to-be friends. In addition to their bar menu and perfectly crafted cocktail menu, they offer a $7 cocktail special every night, and Wednesday Pint Nights. There’s also live music on the weekends, and other fun events announced on Facebook.
