McBride's Pub is a Neighborhood Hub

Posted

McBride’s Pub, a local favorite in the heart of Wayland Square, is full of unexpected surprises. Housed in the former garage of a funeral home, the spot serves crowd-pleasing American and Irish comfort food. Brothers Mark and Bob Russell, owners of the funeral home, were inspired to open a restaurant during a family trip to Ireland when they came across a pub named McBride’s. Behind the pub was a funeral home with the same name, and also owned by brothers. With a vision to bring great pub fare stateside, they repurposed the underused garage space to create the lively pub.

Their sizeable menu offers delicious pub food with an Irish twist, like the Irish Nachos, Angus Beef Sliders, Fish and Chips and Corned Beef and Cabbage. Housemade desserts, like Agnes McBride’s Apple Pie, are
devilishly good.

See and Be Seen

From family-friendly food to the perfect pour of Guinness, there’s plenty of ways to have a great time at McBride’s. The full-stocked bar offers an impressive selection of beers, wines, spirits and signature whiskey cocktails. Every night at 10pm, the bar has a very special last call, where guests and staff recognize someone who has “gone to the other side.” McBride’s delivers more good times with live entertainment three days a week and trivia on Wednesday nights.
