Music lovers, rejoice! There’s a new license plate coming to Rhode Island honoring the legacy of the Newport Folk and Jazz festivals.

The Newport Festivals Foundation, the charitable organization behind the two historic festivals, is launching an official Rhode Island license plate to support music education for students around the state. Partial proceeds from each license plate sold will be used to provide free music lessons for Rhode Island students through the Newport Festivals Foundation's Free Music Lessons program.

Additional organizations part of the state’s charity plate program include Ribbon of Hope, Conservation Through Education, and the Atlantic Shark Institute.
