Experience RI: Book an Autumn in New England tour and venture down the scenic country roads of our home state, making stops at farm stands, a covered bridge, and other festive landmarks. October 3-31.

 

Farmers Markets: Stay up-to-date on farm-fresh produce and local food makers near you, including markets in Goddard Park, Armory Park, Lippitt Park, and on both Broad and Hope streets. 

 

Food Truck Fridays: Craving that street taco and an evening outdoors? Roger Williams Park Zoo hosts local food trucks doling out street fare at Carousel Village. Every Friday through September 27.

 

Haunted Boat Tours: Take a spooky boat tour and learn about the many restless souls that haunt the streets and rivers of Providence, plus a special “boo”-zy boat ride on Halloween night! On select Wednesdays and Sundays.

 

Live, Social Distancing Comedy: Just like the name says, enjoy plenty of laughs – and a cold one – at Trinity Beer Garden’s outdoor comedy show. Every Friday through September 25.

 

Providence Artisans Market: Artists from all over Southern New England convene at Lippitt Park to display their fine crafts, jewelry, paintings, and more. On Saturdays at Lippitt Park through October.

 

Providence Flea: Take a leisurely Sunday stroll down South Water Street through tents of vintage clothing and decor, live music, food trucks, and local nonprofits through September 29. Then, through November 29, the market heads indoors at the WaterFire Arts Center. 

 

Rhode Island Heritage Month: All September long, learn and celebrate the rich history of our state through art, music, and dance highlights every Saturday live on Facebook

 

Sabor Latino 2020: Enjoy various virtual celebrations, demonstrations, and Q&As with local Latin chefs, plus a silent auction running through October 31. 

 

Virtual Drag Brunch Live!: Livestream your favorite Queens Haley Star, LaDiva Jonz, and Jacqueline DeMera every Sunday. Socially distanced live shows TBA. 

 

Virtual Gallery Night: Broadcasting live on Facebook from galleries around Providence. Every third Thursday through November 19.

September 30: Women Leading Change Fundraiser

While this event benefiting the Women’s Fund of RI is taking the virtual space, it’s no less special with an overarching theme celebrating the leaps and bounds women have made in gender equity – and the work still ahead. Featuring speakers, silent live auction, and awards ceremony. 

October 1: Providence Children’s Museum

Your favorite kiddie destination downtown reopens with online ticketing, timed admission, and digital membership cards. 

 

October 1-November 1: Jack-o-Lantern Spectacular

It might look a little different this year, but you can still admire thousands of masterfully carved pumpkins from the comfort of your car during this drive-through edition. 

 

October 2-9: Design Week RI

Rhody’s famous celebration of all things design offers live and virtual events ranging from tours to workshops and inspiring talks. 

 

October 18: Nate Bargatze at The Vets

Comedian hailing from Tennessee with an impressive resume lineup of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, and Netflix specials.
