Breweries and distilleries turn into winter wonderlands for last-minute shopping! Grab a frothy beverage, don an ugly sweater, and indulge in festive revelry, or take it slow this weekend with meditative experiences marking the winter solstice. Caroling and storytime are also on the agenda!

THURSDAY, December 19

Support West Warwick Public Library and take a trip down memory lane for the Grown-Up Book Fair at Rhodium Rhode Island Spirits Distillery & Tasting Room. Shop new and used books and gifts, sip drinks, and enter a raffle. 4-8pm, Pawtucket

FRIDAY, December 20

Juicy Market hosts a Holiday Sip & Shop at Proclamation Ale Co. for all of your last-minute gifting needs, boasting handmade wares, artwork, cozy accessories, and all kinds of treats, plus food truck fare and seasonal brews. 5-8pm, Warwick

Don your festive finery and head over to Whalers for their Ugly Sweater Party. The taproom will be a destination for holiday cheer and good beer, with burgers and snacks provided by Sunset Farm and a Christmas giveaway. 6-10pm, Wakefield 

SATURDAY, December 21

A time-honored tradition of arranging evergreen boughs in a simple labyrinth, the Winter Solstice Spiral Walk takes place at Skydog Farm. The community ceremony includes an explanation of the ritual and a story. Register online, Scituate

Walk along the Stillwater Scenic Trail and learn about ancient traditions during the Winter Solstice Hike: A Mindful Celebration of Yule. The reflective trek is followed by a candle lighting, poetry reading, and the chance to set intentions. Register online, Smithfield

Phantom Farms Brewing invites guests to get festive dressing up in their holiday sweaters and Santa suits for the Christmas Costume Party. Craft beer will be flowing from the taps, and live music sets the merry mood. 6-11pm, Cumberland

SUNDAY, December 22

Over 45 local vendors assemble for the Annual Christmas Specialty Market, the equivalent of Santa’s workshop for foodies and art lovers, offering everything from micro-greens and mushrooms to warm beverages and cozy socks. 10am-2pm, Tiverton

It’s never too late to shop local – the Trinity Brewhouse Holiday Market offers a wide selection of goods from local artisans and creatives that loved ones will be thrilled to find under the tree. Eat, drink, shop, and be merry! 12-6pm, Providence  

If “the best way to spread holiday cheer is singing loud for all to hear,” the annual West Side Caroling outing is sure to be a joyful affair. Sing along with neighbors, starting at Lucky Enough and Great North BBQ with a warm-up, and desserts to follow. 5-7:30pm, Providence

Storytellers, poets, and musicians come together for one of The Collaborative’s most anticipated revelries: Holiday Story Night. Raise a cup of good cheer with friends and neighbors and enjoy snacks from arc{hive} book + snackery. 6pm, Warren
