Most of us are itching to be outside as much as possible this time of year, so here’s a list of (mainly) outdoorsy activities coming up this weekend. So many different ways to enjoy Rhody in the springtime!

La Dama Boba (The Silly Lady) at Teatro Ecas is a genre-defying comedy from playwright Lope de Vega about two sisters engaged to marry two suitors but in love with the same man. The play is presented in Spanish with English supertitles. Tickets Online, Providence

Whisky for Wildlife is a fundraiser for the Roger Williams Park Zoo where attendees enjoy a curated selection of whiskies with guidance from whisky mentor Irene Tan, along with great food, animal encounters, and more. Tickets online, Providence

 SATURDAY, May 17

Don’t miss Rhode Island’s own Billy Gilman and his band The Ragged Impresarios, celebrating 25 years in show business with a mix of original hits and show-stopping covers at the Greenwich Odeum. Tickets online, East Greenwich

The Coggeshall Farm Museum Sheep & Wool Festival offers an opportunity to learn about and view demonstrations of sheep shearing, wool processing, dyeing, weaving, and spinning, along with vendors and artisans from around the region. Tickets online, Bristol

Enjoy the bounty of local aquaculture at the 9th annual Newport Oyster and Chowder Festival, a free event showcasing the region’s oyster farms, plus exhibitors and live music from The Teledynes, The Ravers, and The Blue Light Bandits. The festival continues on Sunday. Newport

SUNDAY, May 18:


The newest farmer’s market in the state opens at Garden City Center this weekend. The community-driven event brings local growers, artisans, and small businesses to the heart of the shopping center's gazebo green, weekly through September 28. Cranston
