Must-Do's

Rhody Weekend Must-Do's: November 28-December 1

Small Business Saturday and post-Turkey Day fun for the whole family!

Posted

Happy Thanksgiving, Rhody! Once you’ve napped off the turkey and washed the dishes (or, better yet, save those for tomorrow), let the shopping and tree lightings begin! Towns around the state are set aglow, Santa makes his rounds, and halls will be decked. Escape the hustle and bustle with cozy hikes in the woods, too.

In case of weather delays or last-minute cancellations, always call the venue or check online for updates before you go.

ALL WEEKEND

Roger Williams Park Botanical Center kicks off a month of holiday fun with Wreath Making Workshops. Register for one of two sessions each day, and decorate a wreath using glittery and natural materials from the gardens. Providence, tickets online, November 29-December 1

Santa pays a visit for the Warren Holiday Festival, a two-day event with fun for the whole family. Expect hot cocoa flowing, merry craft making, caroling and live entertainment, sparkling lights, a scavenger hunt, and more. November 29-30, Warren

Naturalists and Park Rangers lead an Opt Outside for Black Friday hike at Lincoln Woods State Park. A brisk 1.5-mile walk covers paved roads and a short but rocky trail, while learning about the park’s natural history and freshwater wetlands. 10am, Lincoln

Walk off the day of feasting with the Charlestown Land Trust’s Annual Turkey Trot: 1.2 miles at Patricia Sprague Forest Preserve with CLT president Bill McCusker. Bundle up, bring a friend, and enjoy the winter scenery. Register online, Carolina

Take a break from the leftovers and bring the whole family to the Audubon Society’s Day After Thanksgiving Activities. A craft table, nature story, animal interview, and, weather permitting, a guided walk are included. 10am-3pm, Bristol

SATURDAY, November 30

Small Business Saturday is here! Along with Shop RI’s showcase of more than 150 local vendors in one spot, there are dozens of shopping districts to visit this weekend for one-of-a-kind gifts and deals. Warwick, statewide
