There’s a lot to love for seafood and beer fans this weekend with two festivals featuring delicacies from Ocean State waters and the start of Oktoberfest season at local breweries! Keep an eye on the weather forecast before motoring over to early-fall concerts and comedy shows, art events, markets, and more.

Taste some of the Ocean State’s finest lobster rolls, clam cakes, fish tacos, and more at the RI Seafood Festival taking over India Point Park with a host of local vendors, beer flowing from taps, and live entertainment. Saturday-Sunday, Providence 

The Endless Summer Music Festival and Calamari Cook-Off at Veterans Park and Gansett Days revelry with family-friendly fun and helicopter rides are all a part of Gansett Fest, the season’s last hurrah before fall. Friday-Sunday, Narragansett 

THURSDAY, September 14

Order a round of drinks and pizza, and get ready to laugh at Hot Mic Hosted by Poppy Champlin, a local legend bringing this monthly all-ages comedy open mic night to the Pumphouse. Tickets online, Wakefield 

FRIDAY, September 15

A global project transforming streets into gathering spaces, Park(ing) Day PVD, hosted by Providence Streets Coalition and Grow Smart RI, lets folks peruse engaging installations set up in parking spaces by local orgs. 8am-5pm, Providence

SATURDAY, September 16

It’s Oktoberfest time at Long Live Beerworks, a courtyard-wide celebration featuring local makers and craft vendors, outdoor beer garden, food from Bayberry, a stein-holding contest, and, of course, a new seasonal brew release. 12-6pm, Providence

Bring your own materials and let the beautiful seaside Casey Farm inspire you for a day of plein air painting with a Watercolor Workshop led by Vicki Iannuccillo, including a one-hour demonstration before putting brush to paper. Register online, Jamestown

With food and retail vendors set up all over the North Smithfield High School campus and fun activities and entertainment for all ages, the North Smithfield PumpkinFest is the ultimate kick off to fall. Follow for weather updates; 11am-5pm, North Smithfield

SUNDAY, September 17

The Tiverton Farmers Market holds a special Mini-Firefly Wellness featuring mind- and body-focused vendors, with complimentary sessions hosted by Nanaquaket Yoga Studio and Rising Tides Apothecary. 10am-2pm, Tiverton

The free, family-friendly Bristol PorchFest returns in a big way, with more music and variety than ever as performers take the stage on residential porches along lower High Street for the enjoyment of strolling spectators. 3-6pm, Bristol

Lederhosen are encouraged at the rain-or-shine Proctoberfest, where Festbier and Märzen brews will be flowing, plus brats and soft pretzels, bagpipe music, and performances by Big Nazo and Providence Drum Troupe, all at Proclamation Ale Co. 12-6pm, Warwick
