The Outside-the-Venue Wedding

Posted

Ashley and Sarah chose a place that isn’t a wedding venue at all but through a friendship with the owner, who graciously allowed a little fete on her farm, the couple fashioned a day to remember. “We were initially supposed to get married at The Guild in Pawtucket with about 75 guests, but pretty early on during COVID, Sarah and I made the tough decision to move forward with our wedding ceremony but not have guests,” explains Ashley. “We turned one of the seed houses on the farm into our romantic dinner setting, decorated simply with string lights, fresh flowers, and candles. It was intimate and magical.”

Make It Your Own

Showcasing a season as your wedding theme can help trigger ideas instantly. For Ashley and Sarah, autumn played a starring role and everything from in-season florals to foods played off the rich tones of the leaves changing color. Similar farms worth reaching out to include growers of Christmas trees, sunflowers, tulips, apples, pumpkins.

Tip: Grace Note Farm in Pascoag and The Farmer’s Daughter are wedding venues.
