Goat Island Beverage Company, a newly established woman-owned business, has launched its first product: a premium Agave Margarita in a can. Crafted with tequila and natural ingredients, this ready-to-drink cocktail brings the taste of a handcrafted drink to any occasion, whether you're lounging on the beach or cruising on a boat.
Inspired by years of feedback from family gatherings where her husband’s margaritas were always a hit, Lindsay Sgambato founded Goat Island Beverage Co. “I wanted something fun and easy to bring to the beach, parties, or on a boat,” Sgambato shares. The result is a cocktail that stands out with its fresh, handcrafted taste.
Unlike many ready-to-drink options that rely on neutral spirits, Goat Island’s Agave Margarita is made with tequila, lime, agave syrup, orange cognac (triple sec), a hint of lemon, and a pinch of salt. This combination ensures an authentic, smooth flavor without the harsh burn often found in other canned cocktails. “We wanted ours to stand out with a fresh, handcrafted taste that you can enjoy straight from the can or enhance with your own personal touch,” Sgambato explains.
This premium margarita marks the start of a new venture for the Sgambato family, veterans of the beverage industry. Sgambato’s husband John, the owner of Yacht Club Soda – a historic soda and seltzer company in North Providence – brings his extensive bottling experience to the project. Together, they’ve crafted a product that perfectly balances consumer palate with producer expertise.
