Thursday, September 23 at 6:00pm Eastern Time

Live via Zoom

Free Admission, Reservations Required

Join us via Zoom for an engaging free PAC Lecture and conversation on how art and design is made. Emily Banas will be speaking about a selection of artworks from her recently co-curated exhibition, Works in Process, which examines ways of making and how artists and designers work through their ideas. Special emphasis will be on Providence metalsmith, jeweler, and early 20th century Art Club member, William Edgar Brigham (1885–1962).

Emily Banas is the Assistant Curator of Decorative Arts and Design at the RISD Museum where she's been working since 2015. Prior to joining the RISD Museum, Emily earned her MA in Decorative Arts, Design History, and Material Culture from the Bard Graduate Center in 2015, and her MA in Art History and Museum Studies at Georgetown University in 2012. Her interests span from 18th-century decorative arts to 21st-century craft and design, and everything in between.

After Emily's lecture, PAC Gallery Manager Michael Rose will emcee an interactive question and answer period with this talented researcher and curator. This program is free admission and all are welcome. Reservations are required and must be made via Eventbrite. Ticket registration closes on Sept. 23 at 12noon Eastern Time. Attendees should be comfortable using the Zoom platform. Registrants will receive the Zoom link via direct email the day of the event.
