The lawn chairs may be a little sun-faded by now, but their season isn’t over yet. October brings another round of food truck gatherings around Rhode Island and just over the border, with giant pumpkins in Warren, local makers in South Kingstown, riverside views in Burrillville, and several familiar series wrapping up for the year. There’s even a November encore at Roger Williams Park Zoo.
Warwick Food Truck Night
The Great Lawn at Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick gets one more food truck night on Friday, October 2. From 4-7:30 PM, dinner comes with live music, karaoke, and beer, wine, and mocktails from Good Vibes Beverages. Admission is free, with food and drinks available for purchase. Bring a chair or blanket and claim a patch of lawn.
Food Trucks at Flames of Hope
Food trucks join one of Providence’s biggest October traditions on Saturday, October 3, as Flames of Hope returns in support of the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. Food, music, and community activities around 195 District Park and Station Park are part of the larger October 3-4 weekend. Check the event page closer to the date for finalized Saturday timing.
Food Truck Picnic in the Park
Just over the state line, Capron Park in Attleboro hosts its final Food Truck Picnic of the year on Friday, October 9 from 4-7 PM. Food trucks and live music return alongside Juicy Market for one more dinner in the park. Admission is free, and chairs and blankets are welcome.
Southern New England Pumpkin Growers Weigh Off
Frerichs Farm in Warren turns pumpkin season into a spectator sport on Saturday, October 10. Giant gourds arrive between 9 and 11 AM before an 11:30 AM pumpkin drop and the official weigh-off at noon. Food trucks, rides, a free corn maze, kids’ activities, and live music keep things going through 5 PM. Admission is free, with $5 cash parking.
Assembly of Food Trucks
The final Burrillville gathering of the season happens to come with one of the prettiest settings. On Sunday, October 11, food trucks, live music, and Good Vibes Beverages gather on the Assembly Theatre grounds near the Nipmuc River and Harrisville Pond falls from approximately 4-7 PM. Admission is free, and chairs or blankets are encouraged.
Food Trucks at Johnston Memorial Park
Make lunch the outing on Monday, October 12, when food trucks return to Johnston Memorial Park from 11:30 AM to 3 PM. The season’s final Johnston visit also brings Juicy Market, live music, and Good Vibes Beverages. Admission is free.
Arts & Eats at Sons of Liberty
Those who prefer a little shopping between bites can head to Sons of Liberty Spirits Co. in South Kingstown on Saturday, October 17. From noon-6 PM, Field of Artisans brings more than 20 local makers together with food trucks, live music, and craft drinks from Sons of Liberty. The outdoor event is free and family-friendly, with Sunday, October 18 reserved as the rain date.
Bonus Stop: Food Truck Day at Roger Williams Park Zoo
Food truck season gets one more outing on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence. Food trucks and live music will pop up throughout the zoo, with the festivities included in regular admission. Active and retired U.S. military veterans with valid ID receive 50 percent off daytime admission for themselves and up to four immediate family members.
