Boost Creativity and Wellness at the 2024 LitArts RI Writing + Wellness Fair in PVD

Connect with creatives during a day of inspiring activities, resources, and community-building on February 10

Posted

Prioritizing mental wellness has been the theme of 2024, and for good reason. In a world where stress levels are high and self-esteem is often low, finding balance in pursuing art  is a beacon of hope for many. Creative pursuits offer a unique escape, a way to express ourselves, and a means to foster tranquility and relaxation.

If the idea of enhancing your well-being while connecting with local artists in your community piques your interest, mark your calendar for February 10. From 11am to 4pm, LitArts RI invites you to their Writing + Wellness Resource Fair. It's the perfect chance to draw inspiration from Rhode Island’s pool of local creatives and find resources to enrich your own journey toward wellness.

This free event caters to a wide range of interests, offering resources for pursuing art, social justice, housing aid, healthcare, and grant opportunities. Additionally, participants can learn valuable insights to improve their creative endeavors through interactive activities, including drop-in writing sessions with Justice Ameer and Kou Tukala Nyan (a regular contributor to Hey Rhody Media Co) from the Blackearth Collective + Lab, desk yoga sessions hosted by The Heal Room, oral history recordings with Rhode Island Latino Arts, and astrology readings by Luke Dani Blue Astrology.

LitArts RI is dedicated to supporting Rhode Island's creators in the written, spoken, and illustrated word. By offering community events like the Writing + Wellness Resource Fair, business services, and discounted co-working space, LitArts RI plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive environment for creatives. Their mission is to uplift the content arts in the state, and in doing so, position Rhode Island as a must-visit destination for writers and artists.
