Love is in the air, and it smells like freshly printed pages and happy endings. The Little Bubblegum Bookshop, Rhode Island’s first and only romance-exclusive bookstore, officially opens on October 25 in Providence.
Located between Fox Point and the Jewelry District at 103 Wickenden Street, this cheerful new shop brings a pop of color and plenty of heart to Corliss Landing. It joins a growing wave of independent bookstores across the country that are giving romance novels the spotlight they deserve.
The idea came from Erin Masse, a lifelong book lover who wanted to create a place that feels as bright and welcoming as the stories it celebrates. “I wanted to create a space that’s joyful, inclusive, and fun, a place where romance readers can feel seen and celebrated,” says Masse. “There’s something special about walking into a shop that’s full of love stories. It’s an instant mood boost.”
Inside, the shelves are filled with a curated mix of new and pre-loved romance novels that capture every kind of love story. Readers will find everything from slow-burn historicals and swoony contemporaries to queer rom-coms and delightfully spicy page-turners. The shop also carries playful gifts and cozy accessories that make it easy to find something for every book lover in your life.
To celebrate the grand opening, the first 25 visitors will receive a free tote bag, and the first 50 guests will snag an exclusive Little Bubblegum Bookshop sticker. Visitors are encouraged to browse, chat, snap a selfie, and maybe fall in love with a new favorite read.
