Some evenings call for dinner and a drink, while others invite you to slip into something a little more glamorous. On April 3, Pawtucket gets the latter when Acute Inflections brings its Harlem Renaissance-inspired experience to Hope Events on Main.
For one evening, the venue transforms into a candlelit escape where soulful jazz meets clever comedy and timeless style. The New York City-based husband-and-wife duo blends jazzy R&B vocals with upright bass grooves and playful audience interaction, channeling the elegance of a 1920s supper club with the relaxed charm of a modern unplugged show.
Led by vocalist Elasea Douglas and bassist Sadiki Pierre, Acute Inflections has performed for more than 50,000 fans across the globe. The pair has earned over 1,000 five-star reviews and made appearances on HBO and Amazon, gaining a reputation for shows that feel intimate, joyful, and refreshingly interactive. Their sound often draws comparisons to icons like Billie Holiday and Erykah Badu while maintaining a voice that feels entirely their own.
Guests can expect dynamic duets, spontaneous freestyles, and lighthearted banter throughout the evening. Complimentary snacks will be available during the show, while drinks can be purchased at the bar. Those looking to make a full night of it can arrive early for pre-show dining at The Village Market, located inside Hope Artiste Village and open exclusively for ticket holders from 4:30-7:30pm.
The evening also carries a meaningful purpose beyond entertainment. Ticket sales help support the Renaissance Youth Center, a South Bronx-based nonprofit that provides music education, tutoring, and after-school programs for inner-city youth.
Doors open at 6pm, and the show begins at 7pm. Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest Harlem Renaissance-inspired attire for a chance to win a jazzy prize. To learn more or reserve seats for this soulful night out, visit AcuteInflections.com.
