Prince Charles tests positive for COVID-19 for a second time, 'is now self-isolating'

Prince Charles has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time.

The Twitter account of The Prince of Wales and Duchess Camilla made the announcement Thursday morning.

"This morning The Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating," the tweet read.

The royal, who is the heir to the British throne, was expected to attend events in Winchester Friday. The evening before testing positive, he and Duchess Camilla attended a reception at the British Museum for the British Asian Trust, a charity the prince founded in 2007, to celebrate communities in South Asia.

Prince Charles has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time.

Last February, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall had received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. In December on the anniversary of the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine being administered in the U.K., they announced that they had both received a booster dose as well, urging others to do the same.
