Where to Go Sledding in Rhode Island This Winter

45+ classic hills and newly buzzing spots to know before the next snowstorm

Posted

After this weekend’s snowfall, all bets are off. Hills that usually go unnoticed suddenly become prime real estate, plastic sleds emerge from basements like clockwork, and even the most sensible adults start eyeing slopes with a mix of confidence and curiosity. Once the ground turns white, the debate begins: which hill is fun, which hill is fast, and which hill is absolutely not for the faint of heart.

To help you skip the scouting mission, we’ve rounded up 55+ sledding hills across Rhode Island that are actually worth the trek. The list includes mellow, family-friendly runs made for easy cruising, neighborhood favorites with bragging rights attached, and a handful of legendary slopes best described as “send it, but maybe think twice.”

So layer up, grab whatever sled you can find, and pick your hill carefully. Because in true snow-day fashion, someone will swear they’re done after one run, only to be halfway back up the hill five minutes later.
