Y Not Enjoy The Best Ramen Ever at Y Noodle & Bar?

The Dames Who Dine visit the West End for noodles and drinks

Posted

The West End is a culinary hot spot in Providence, including a handful of destinations along West Fountain Street. One such venue is Y Noodle & Bar, located in the beautifully repurposed and restored 425 West Fountain Street retail area, nestled among a cluster of other favorites, including The Slow Rhode and Origin Beer Project. The spot offers authentic Chinese and Japanese fare, from bao buns to ramen bowls, with ample parking. On a recent Thursday night, we stopped in for a bite.

Dinner and drinks began with a couple of beautifully presented cocktails: a smoked rosemary-infused Cosmopolitan and a fruity, gin-based drink called West of the Sun. For appetizers, we shared Pan-Fried Whole Shrimp Gyoza and the Pork Belly Cotton Candy appetizers. Both dishes were unique, with the latter being a must-try during your visit to Y Noodle. The main dishes did not disappoint. Both the Spicy Miso Ramen and Shio Udon were vibrant in color and flavor, with so many noodles that we each took leftovers home for lunch the next day.

When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet, but as the evening progressed, the dining room filled up around us. This low-lit space features eye-catching art and clever touches that create a fun, vibrant atmosphere. A glance at their social media shows that entertainment is available on designated nights, including live music and karaoke. Y Noodle stays open until midnight on weekends to satisfy your late-night noodle cravings. Enjoy a seat at the bar to witness mixology at its finest, or choose a table in the enchanting dining room.
