A Spooky Night at Knight Brings Chills, Thrills, and Community Spirit

Community Libraries of Providence hosts its first Halloween-themed fundraiser inside the historic Knight Memorial Library

Posted

The historic Knight Memorial Library is trading story time for spooky time with its first-ever Halloween-themed fundraiser, A Spooky Night at Knight. On Thursday, October 30, from 6 to 10 p.m., the Elmwood landmark will open its doors for an evening of cocktails, music, and community celebration.

Guests can look forward to a lively lineup of entertainment, featuring the fantastical creatures of Big Nazo and a captivating flash mob performance by The New England Witches Guild. DJ Phantom will keep the dance floor buzzing all night long. Costumes are encouraged but not required, though those who arrive in their Halloween best may be rewarded with prize baskets and other surprises.

The 21+ fundraiser supports the nine neighborhood branches of the Community Libraries of Providence (CLPVD), helping them continue to thrive as inclusive spaces for learning, creativity, and connection. Proceeds from the event will also fund accessibility improvements at Knight Memorial Library, ensuring the historic building can welcome more visitors in the future.

Built in 1924, Knight Memorial Library’s grand architecture provides a stunning backdrop for this new fall tradition. Its soaring ceilings and timeless charm make it the ideal setting for a night that blends local culture, philanthropy, and festive fun.

Guests should note that event lighting will include occasional strobe effects. While Knight Memorial Library is not currently ADA accessible, the fundraiser’s mission focuses on making that goal a reality. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit clpvd.org.
