Neuro Brews Pours More Than Coffee in Smithfield

A Rhode Island family’s cart blends locally roasted flavors with a mission of acceptance

For most people, the smell of coffee signals comfort. For one Rhode Island family, it sparked a mission of kindness and inclusion. Neuro Brews, a mobile coffee cart based in Smithfield, is transforming pop-up events into opportunities for connection, community, and joy while serving locally roasted Block Island Coffee.

Founder Holly DelRossi built the venture from both love and lived experience. She credits her son, David, and their family’s journey with neurodiversity as the inspiration. David has sensory differences, yet he delights in the aroma of brewing coffee, and that simple joy grew into something bigger.

David describes the mission in his own words: “We wanted to do Neuro Brews for kindness and my mom wanted me to have a job.”

At first glance, it may look like just another coffee cart, but Holly insists it stands apart. “We are not just pouring coffee. We are pouring connection,” she says. “Yes, we work hard to serve quality, delicious drinks, but every cup also carries a story and a mission.”

That mission extends beyond the menu. Neuro Brews creates a space where different learning and working styles are welcomed. Holly explains, “Building an inclusive business means everything to me because it reflects the world I want my son and others with neurodiverse differences to grow up in.” David defines inclusion in his own way: “Inclusion means letting people be with you.”

Their cart has already brought smiles to farms, festivals, and schools across Rhode Island. Holly recalls a milestone moment when she watched David take his very first coffee order and saw the genuine smiles exchanged. For her, the moment was less about the drink and more about connection. David adds that his happiest day was bringing the cart to his social group, Family Behavior Solutions.

The menu has quickly become a local favorite, with highlights like cold brew and a playful Peanut Butter Cup Latte. David prefers fruit punch but recommends the gingerbread flavor because of its smell.

Looking ahead, Holly hopes Neuro Brews grows beyond the cart. “I hope it becomes a movement of acceptance across our community,” she says. For more information, visit Neurobrews.com.
