Rocky Hill Country Day School Challenges Students to Think Outside

Learning goes beyond the classroom at an independent school in East Greenwich

Rocky Hill Country Day School invites their community to "Think Outside" on a waterfront campus. This involves reimagining a curriculum to take place outside of the classroom, but also encouraging the community to connect with nature and be stewards of their space. Offering grades Nursery through 12, the school provides students with opportunities for individualized learning, where they are equipped with the skills and confidence needed for college and beyond.

“This campus provides opportunities for a class to meet outdoors, our teams to practice on campus, or a science class to partner with Save the Bay on a project in the salt marsh,” shares James Pinkham, Director of Enrollment Management. “These opportunities complement classrooms with dynamic teachers that challenge kids to do more than memorize as they collaborate, problem solve, and develop the confidence to take on bigger challenges every day. The Bay is as much a part of the campus as the buildings and we are constantly there for lessons, a class kayak, or sailing team practice."

Purposefully small class sizes allow Rocky Hill’s passionate educators to know each student and celebrate their unique strengths in an environment that focuses on intentionality, meaningful coursework, and navigating real-world experiences. Every day, a hot lunch prepared in their scratch kitchen fuels kids for a day of exploring passions. In addition to a wide range of athletics, service learning, and arts, strong parent-teacher partnerships pave the way for success in this rigorous academic environment.

Open House is the perfect way for families to visit, meet students and teachers, and explore the beautiful campus. Join this community on October 5 at 1pm for their fall Open House. “This event is for the whole family as they start the process of applying to Rocky Hill,” shares Pinkham.

If you're looking for opportunities to inspire your enthusiastic learner so they can engage their strengths and passions, contact the Rocky Hill Admissions Office directly at 401-884-9070 or admissions@rockyhill.org, or register to attend the October 5 Open House by visiting RockyHill.org.
