Seasons collide with Christmas in July festivities inviting Santa into the summer fun this weekend. From family-friendly festivals and markets to art exhibits and dance showcases, we’re celebrating the Ocean State’s best bets.

ALL WEEKEND

An Art Show at Earle’s Service Station features the works of Isabel Mattia, Erin Kinnane, Mark Gleicher, and Tom Deninger, giving voice to Little Compton’s natural and social history through contemporary works. July 19-21, Little Compton

Witness art in motion at the Newport Dance Festival on the lawn of the Great Friends Meeting House. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to watch the sun set over the festival stage as a unique lineup of dances showcases a range of talent and artistry. Through July 21, Newport 

The community is invited to the annual Saint Mary’s Feast. Dig into lunch from local vendors and enjoy live entertainment each day, followed by fun for the whole family and a fireworks display Sunday night. Through July 21, Cranston

Let the good times roll throughout the weekend with Summerfest at the Crescent Park Looff Carousel! From carousel rides and live music to a vendor fair and car show, there’s something for all ages and interests. Through July 21, Cranston

THURSDAY, July 18

Back for its 27th season, Concerts Under the Elms takes over the Great Lawn of the John Brown House Museum in Providence. Bring a blanket, chairs, and coolers as you unwind to the acoustic sound of The Narrow River Band. Tickets online, Providence

Satiate your cravings at the Fieldside Feast at Pasquale Farms. Sample a wide variety of cuisines from different food trucks and shop local vendors while being serenaded by live music throughout the evening. 5pm, Richmond

Stroll along the Saugutucket River for a summer Thursday tradition: Wakefield RiverFire. Local artisans line Main Street and live music by Paul Colombino and Blistering Ego fills the air while ambient fires ignite along the river. 6-8pm, Wakefield

SATURDAY, July 20

If this heat wave has you wishing for December, visit Christmas in the Village in July, a farmers market of local spoils followed by a USO Tribute Show, so be sure to secure a spot on the lawn  to hear the 18-piece orchestra. 9am-12pm, North Scituate

SUNDAY, July 21

For more festive fun, We Be Jammin’ hosts the Christmas in July Marketplace, with food trucks, 75 vendors to get a very early start on the holiday season, and the chance for kids to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and furry friends at the petting zoo. 10am-3:30pm, Warwick

World class dancers, composers, choreographers, and musicians come together to present a collaborative performance for Revolve Dance Project at the RISD Auditorium, with a matinee and evening show. Tickets online, Providence
