Be immersed in rich symphonies and compositions at the Newport Classical Music Festival, hosting a plethora of live performances at various venues throughout the month, kicking off this weekend with the free Patriotic Pops on the 4th! July 4-21, Newport

THURSDAY, July 4

It wouldn’t be the Fourth of July without the Military, Civic and Firemen's Parade, America’s oldest continuous celebration of the Independence Day. Plan ahead to find parking early or pedal over by bike to see the floats and bands. 10:30am, Bristol

South County Museum invites the community to its annual Fourth of July Chick Hatch to get a first look at the next generation of Rhode Island Reds. Visitors can also play games, hear live music, and enter a raffle. 11am-2pm, Narragansett

Celebrate Independence Day and bask in a glorious full lighting at the special Fourth of July WaterFire. Peruse handmade and curated jewelry, art, and decor from a myriad of vendors while watching the braziers light up the river at sunset. 6:30-11pm, Providence

FRIDAY, July 5

Keep the festivities going strong by catching classic rock band Barfly at the Narragansett Gazebo as part of the Gazebo Summer Concert Series. Bring your own folding chair or blanket and dance while the sun sets. 6pm, Narragansett

Seaside shopping awaits at the Herreshoff Marine Museum’s Summer Artisan Market. Discover unique art and treasures made by local craftspeople while taking in the scenic views of the Bristol waterfront. 10am-4pm, Bristol

Settle into the long weekend at Moniker Brewery’s First Friday party, with a raw bar from Great Salt Pond Oyster Co., food from Ming’s and Knife and Knead, Bu’s Tap Trailer pouring cocktails, live music by Hollow Turtle, and, of course, craft beers flowing. 4pm, Providence

SUNDAY, July 7

Keep the holiday celebrations going strong with the Independence Day Weekend Fireworks and Music at East Ferry. A fireworks show and live music by Next Stop Band and the Jamestown Community Band are all part of the fun. 7pm-9:45pm, Jamestown

For its 49th year, the Rhode Island Cape Verdean Independence Day Festival at the Roger Williams Park Temple of Music invites the community to celebrate Cape Verdean heritage. Dance to traditional music, taste the cuisine, and shop from local artists. 12-8pm, Providence
