There’s Christmas tunes on the radio and plenty of holly jolly events on the itinerary this weekend! Along with holiday market extravaganzas and open houses, cozy weekend fun includes a quest for hidden gnomes, wine and dining experiences, spa treatments, farm-fresh Thanksgiving ingredient shopping, a dance performance, and more – all before the week of feasting begins!

It’s a shopping spree! The Good Trade Makers Market is coming to Providence, bringing over 90 of the country’s best independent makers and manufacturers under one roof, with a complimentary beverage while you shop. Tickets online, November 18-19, Providence

It’s Gnomevember at Roger Williams Botanical Center! Trek through the gardens to discover a colony of gnomes hard at work tending to the plants for the last weekend of this whimsical scavenger hunt. Tickets online, through November 19 

FRIDAY, November 17

Nothing says “‘tis the season” like the Modern Farmhouse Holiday Kickoff. Spend the evening at the cozy shop for holiday shopping, giveaways, carols, charcuterie, pastries, and refreshments to start the most wonderful time of the year. 3-8pm, Cumberland

Foodies can’t miss the 22nd Annual Taste of Portsmouth fundraiser at the Portsmouth Public Library, an evening of sampling drinks and food from popular restaurants, along with a live auction and raffles. 7-9pm, Portsmouth 

Fancy a date night? Spend a romantic evening at the Coast Guard House for their November Beaujolais Wine Dinner, where every course is paired with a glass of wine, hosted by French wine specialist Christian Dalbavie. Reservations required, 7-10:30pm, Narragansett

Holiday shopping doesn’t have to be stressful. Check items off your nice list and get pampered by the Crystal Lake Golf Club’s ‘Tis the Season: Sip, Shop, Spa event, featuring seasonal cocktails, spa treatments, and local gift vendors. Tickets online, Mapleville

Shakespeare meets hip-hop with renowned choreographer Rennie Harris’ Rome & Jewels, an award-winning dance performance that recasts the classic romance story on the streets of Philadelphia, presented by FirstWorks. Tickets online, Providence    

Enjoy the holiday magic of Bristol at Linden Place’s Winter Artisan Market, an indoor/outdoor shopping experience with dozens of local makers selling their wares, from jewelry and pottery to clothing and more. 11am-3pm, Bristol

SUNDAY, November 19

The Cranberry Craze Specialty Farmers Market returns with 45 local vendors offering all sorts of cranberry-infused creations, as well as farm-fresh ingredients and all variety of gifts and goods from local artists and makers. 10am-2pm, Tiverton
