While you’re at it, party like it's your winter high school formal with a film party, catch theater and music performances, appreciate the Ocean State’s natural wonders, gear up to go fishing, and more!

THURSDAY, January 11

The Courtland Club hosts Nikhil Naiker’s Nimki and Big Feeling, teaming up for a Crispy Chicken Ice Cream pop-up when your two favorite comfort foods converge (with vegetarian options, too); reservations encouraged. 5pm-sell out, Providence

FRIDAY, January 12

“On Wednesdays, we wear pink,” and on Friday, we dress in throwback-highschool attire (whether that’s the ‘70s or early aughts) for the Mean Girls Party, celebrating the remake with superlative contests, karaoke, crowning a King and Queen, and more! Westerly, 7-9pm

SATURDAY, January 13

Six plays, six writers, 24 actors, and 24 hours: the 19th Annual 24-Hour Play Festival is a feat of creativity presenting short plays written, rehearsed, and performed in a day, ranging from comedic to dramatic to simply bizarre. 8pm, Wakefield 

Join the Narragansett Surcasters, a Rhode Island fishing club, for their annual Surf Day, a vendor show hawking new and used rods, reals, custom plugs, flies, tackles, and more. It’s sure to be a fresh catch! 8am-2pm, Narragansett

SUNDAY, January 14

Bring a yoga mat and find your zen with Sound in the Jungle, a sound bath transporting you to someplace serene, all while surrounded by a plethora of plants at Jordan’s Jungle; all ages and four-legged friends are welcome. Tickets online, Pawtucket

Join the chefs at Krakow Deli Bakery Smokehouse for a Polish Pierogi Cooking Class, where you’ll make potato and cheese pierogi like Mama and Babcia used to, in your custom cooking apron, followed by an authentic meal and dessert. Tickets over the phone, Woonsocket

Brunch Bites and Beer at Long Live Beerworks must be the breakfast of champions. Adena Marcelino of Black Bean PVD showcases her brunch-inspired bites – including grits, waffles, parfaits, and eggs – paired with specially curated brews. 12pm, Providence  

Explore the great outdoors with a Family Hike at Sachuest Point. Look for sea birds, seals, and other wildlife as you tromp through three miles of Ocean State terrain, and participate in a scavenger hunt. Tickets online, Middletown
